ARTWORK FILE
SETUP GUIDE
Overview
To ensure the highest quality print results, artwork files must be supplied in the correct format and prepared according to the guidelines below. Following these steps will help prevent resizing, quality loss, or additional handling fees.
Supported File Formats
Paragon supports the following file types:
Adobe Illustrator: .ai .eps .pdf
Adobe Photoshop: .psd .tif .jpg
Note: InDesign files are not accepted.
Resolution
- Files should be supplied at 100% or 10% of the final output size.
- Image resolution should be 70 DPI at full size (or 700 DPI at 10% size).
- For graphics viewed from over 1.5 metres, resolution can be reduced further.
- Images must be embedded or included with your artwork files.
- Files exceeding 80 DPI will be resized to a manageable level.
- Please note: this may incur additional handling charges.
Bleed and Safe Area
Bleed allows for trimming, stretching, and finishing without losing design elements. The larger the print, the more bleed is required—especially for materials that expand or contract, like fabric.
Self-Adhesive Vinyl
- Bleed: 50mm on all sides
- Safe area: 20mm
Banners
- Bleed: 100mm on all sides
- Safe area:
- 200mm on sides where pockets are sewn
- 20mm on other edges
Fabric
Fabric materials are prone to shrinking and stretching.
- Under 3 metres (either direction): 100mm bleed, 50mm safe area
- Over 3 metres (either direction): 200mm bleed, 100mm safe area
Supplying files with insufficient bleed may require intervention or resizing, which could affect the final design and result in extra costs.
General Tips
Ensure all fonts are outlined and all images are embedded.
Double-check artwork dimensions before submitting.
